JOB SUMMARY
Provide physical therapy services to patients in an acute care hospital setting, assisting them in improving mobility, strength, coordination, and overall function. This role involves direct patient care, treatment planning, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
• Assess patients' physical condition and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to improve patient function.
• Educate patients and their families on exercises, assistive devices, and home care strategies.
• Document patient progress, treatment sessions, and outcomes accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and modify plans as needed.
• Participate in departmental meetings and continuing education.

Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of practice.

Certifications
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Skills
• Proficiency in evaluating and treating a wide range of orthopedic, neurological, and general medical conditions.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics.
• Excellent manual therapy and therapeutic exercise skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interaction.
• Ability to adapt treatment plans to meet diverse patient needs.

EMR / Systems
• Experience with EMR/electronic charting systems is expected.

Patient Population
• Adults and Geriatrics in an acute care setting.

Unit / Specialty
• Acute Care Hospital
• Patients may be admitted to various units during their hospital stay.

• Will position float between units: No
• On-call required: No
