JOB SUMMARY
The CT Technologist, under the direction of the Radiology Manager and the Radiologist, performs computerized tomography procedures, including those of an invasive nature. The technologist is responsible for operating specialized equipment, positioning and instructing patients, determining exposure factors, and ensuring correct marking and labeling of all images. This role requires consistent provision of safe, quality patient care and participation in on-call duties.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform computerized tomography procedures, including invasive procedures.
• Operate specialized CT equipment, including a Toshiba Aquilon 64 slice scanner.
• Position and instruct patients for CT scans.
• Determine appropriate technical factors for image acquisition.
• Ensure correct marking and labeling of all diagnostic images/films.
• Consistently provide safe and high-quality patient care.
• Take call as required.
Schedule / Shift
• Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
• 32 hours per week
Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiology.
• Registered by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
• Possess knowledge in cross-sectional anatomy.
• Requires computer skills.
Experience
• Two years of diagnostic experience is desirable.
Skills
• Ability to operate various specialized pieces of equipment.
• Demonstrates accurate judgment and decision-making ability consistent with radiology knowledge and skills.
• Provides quality customer service and patient care using standard radiology technology in accordance with established hospital policy and procedures.
• Good stamina with flexibility and good manual dexterity and motor skills for operating delicate equipment.

• General computer skills required.

• Adult patients requiring CT imaging procedures.

Floating / On-Call
• Must take call.
• Moderate to heavy physical effort is required. Must apply proper body mechanics to safely transport patients and equipment.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds from floor to wheelchair or waist.
• Ability to move 40 pounds six feet.
• Ability to reach overhead holding 25 pounds.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds from wheelchair to bed level.
• Ability to pull 40 pounds from stretcher to bed.
• Ability to push 150-pound loaded stretcher 300 feet.
