JOB SUMMARY
Provide pastoral and spiritual care services to patients and their families in the final stages of illness, as part of the Evergreen Hospice team. This role supports individuals in Linn, Benton, Marion, Polk, Lincoln, and Tillamook Counties across various care settings, including home residences, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and adult foster homes.

Key Responsibilities
• Offer spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families.
• Provide counseling and facilitate spiritual practices according to patient and family needs and beliefs.
• Collaborate with the hospice team to ensure holistic patient care.
• Address spiritual and existential distress related to illness and end-of-life care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.

Required Qualifications
• Ordained, commissioned, licensed, or endorsed by a pastoral/spiritual community.
• Experience or training in pastoral/spiritual care (e.g., Stephen's Ministry, Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), coursework leading to ordination, or equivalent).
• Valid driver's license.
• Auto liability/property damage insurance as required by law.
• Ability to maintain the employee's personal automobile in good working order.
• Must be able to travel for work assignments at multiple points of care.

Experience
• One (1) of the following required:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field plus two (2) years of pastoral, spiritual, or medical experience in an agency or institution.
• Associate’s degree in a related field plus two (2) years experience as a chaplain.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree.
