MRI Technologist

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MRI Technologist to perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols. The ideal candidate will ensure patient safety and comfort while producing diagnostic-quality images, maintaining equipment functionality, and collaborating with radiologists and healthcare professionals to support exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Prepare patients for MRI procedures by explaining the process and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Screen patients for MRI safety, including evaluating contraindications and completing required documentation.
  • Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Operate MRI equipment and imaging software while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions or emergencies.
  • Administer contrast media as required and permitted by facility policies and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, imaging documentation, and exam results within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Adhere to infection control, patient confidentiality, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications
  1. Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI Technology program.
  2. Current ARRT certification in Radiography (RT) and/or MRI, as required by the facility.
  3. Current state licensure, if required.
  4. Experience performing MRI examinations in a clinical, hospital, or imaging center setting.
  5. Strong knowledge of MRI procedures, anatomy, patient positioning, and imaging protocols.
  6. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  7. Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
  8. Basic computer proficiency and experience.
  9. Previous experience in a hospital, outpatient imaging center, or specialty diagnostic facility.
  10. Advanced knowledge of MRI safety practices and contrast-enhanced imaging procedures.
  11. Experience with various MRI equipment manufacturers and imaging platforms.
  12. Cross-training in CT, X-Ray, or other imaging modalities is a plus.
  13. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences or a related healthcare field.

Certifications
  1. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification - Required
  2. ARRT (MR) Certification - Preferred or Required based on facility requirements
  3. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - Required or Preferred based on facility policy
  4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification - Preferred (if applicable)
