JOB SUMMARY
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. They administer medications, monitor vital signs, perform treatments, and educate patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and report changes to the RN or physician.
• Perform wound care and dressing changes.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and treatment plans.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
• Maintain a safe and clean patient environment.

Schedule / Shift
• Requires flexibility to work assigned shifts, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid LPN or LVN license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience
• Previous experience as an LPN/LVN is often preferred.

Skills
• Proficient in basic nursing care procedures.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.
• Familiarity with standard medical equipment.

Certifications
• LPN/LVN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

EMR / Systems
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is typically required.

Patient Population
• Care for patients across the lifespan, from infants to geriatrics, depending on the assignment.

Unit / Specialty
• Assignments may vary and can include medical-surgical units, rehabilitation, long-term care, skilled nursing facilities, or other clinical settings.

Floating / On-Call
• May be required to float to different units based on census and staffing needs.

Education: High School or equivalent
