JOB SUMMARY
Provides technical and professional nursing care in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab. Assists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to the heart and vascular system.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare patients for electrophysiology procedures.
• Operate EP lab equipment, including recording and stimulating systems.
• Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic parameters during procedures.
• Administer medications as directed by the physician.
• Assist with sterile techniques and maintaining a sterile field.
• Perform post-procedure care and documentation.
• Maintain inventory and stocking of supplies in the EP lab.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
Schedule / Shift
• 13-week contract
• Monday - Friday
• 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Required Qualifications
• Successful completion of a recognized cardiovascular technologist program or equivalent education/experience.
• Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and electrophysiology.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications
• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist)
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
Experience
• Experience working as an EP Tech in an invasive cardiology setting.
Skills
• Proficient in operating EP lab equipment and analysis software.
• Knowledge of diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures.
• Ability to interpret electrocardiograms (ECG) and intracardiac electrograms.
• Competency in sterile technique and infection control principles.
