JOB SUMMARY
Provides occupational therapy services to patients within an inpatient rehabilitation setting, focusing on improving functional abilities and promoting independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients to determine functional limitations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to address patient needs, including activities of daily living (ADLs), evaluations, and other usual inpatient rehabilitation treatments.
- Utilize specialized equipment such as H200/L300 and BURT as part of treatment plans.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, therapists, and aides to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic strategies and home exercise programs.
- Maintain a safe and effective treatment environment.

Required Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation principles and practices.
- Ability to function flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Outgoing, flexible, and knowledgeable personality.
Certifications
- BLS
Experience
- Initiative and knowledge of inpatient rehab.
- Previous experience in inpatient rehab is preferred.
Skills
- Performing ADLs and evaluations.
- Administering usual inpatient rehab treatments.
EMR / Systems
- Meditech
Patient Population
Adults and geriatric patients undergoing rehabilitation.
Unit / Specialty
Methodist Hospital Inpatient Rehab - 32-bed unit.
Floating / On-Call
- Floating to other Methodist Inpatient Rehab units may be required.
- Weekend availability is required, with a minimum of 2 weekends per 4-week period expected.
