We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Electrophysiology (EP) to provide specialized nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac electrophysiology procedures. The RN will collaborate with physicians, technologists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care before, during, and after EP procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and experience in a fast-paced cardiovascular environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive patient care throughout electrophysiology procedures and treatments.
Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions before, during, and after procedures.
Assist physicians during electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablations, device implants, and other cardiac interventions.
Administer medications and conscious sedation in accordance with organizational policies and physician orders.
Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize potential arrhythmias or complications.
Operate and troubleshoot specialized electrophysiology and cardiac monitoring equipment.
Ensure accurate documentation of patient care, medications, and procedural outcomes.
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, treatment plans, and post-procedure care.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Adhere to regulatory, quality, safety, and infection-control standards.
Participate in quality improvement and performance enhancement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Clinical nursing experience in Electrophysiology, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Critical Care, Telemetry, or Cardiovascular Services.
Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, arrhythmias, and electrophysiology procedures.
Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to emergent situations.
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient assessment skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Previous Electrophysiology Lab experience.
Experience with cardiac mapping systems, ablation procedures, and implantable cardiac devices.
Experience administering procedural sedation.
Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Certifications
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
Specialty certifications such as Cardiac Vascular Nursing (CV-BC) or related cardiovascular certifications preferred.
