JOB TITLE: Cath Lab Technician

JOB SUMMARY
Assists with procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients, with a focus on interventional and therapeutic procedures within the Cath Lab setting.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Selects and calibrates technical parameters accurately for imaging.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the scope of practice and applicable regulations.
• Observes patients during procedures, reporting any abnormal activity and monitoring protocols.
• Recommends updates or refinements to protocols as warranted.
• Ensures adherence to radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Performs specialized imaging procedures, including angio, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional, and therapeutic procedures.
• Assists the Radiologist/PA during procedures.
• Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.

Schedule / Shift
Weekend and holiday rotations may be required.

Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience
• Experience performing generalized diagnostic and interventional procedures in a Cath Lab setting.

Skills
• Proficiency in patient preparation and positioning.
• Ability to select and calibrate technical parameters.
• Skilled in administering contrast media and medications.
• Competent in patient observation during procedures.
• Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Expertise in angio and complex vascular/nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures.
• Ability to assist physicians with interventional procedures.
• Understanding of regulatory agency standards.

Certifications
• BLS certification.
• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or equivalent preferred.
