JOB SUMMARY
Performs polysomnographic (PSG) recordings and associated measurements. Operates sophisticated recording equipment and performs routine analysis and scoring of sleep recordings.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and administer polysomnographic testing for patients.
- Operate and maintain sleep recording equipment.
- Monitor patient's physiological signals during sleep studies.
- Score sleep recordings according to established standards.
- Educate patients and their families about sleep studies and related procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control measures.
Schedule / Shift
Nights, Weekends, Holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Certifications
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPGT) or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience in a sleep lab setting is a plus.
Skills
- Proficient in operating polysomnography equipment.
- Knowledge of sleep disorders and their management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
EMR / Systems
Familiarity with EMR systems used in healthcare settings.
