JOB SUMMARY
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Interventional Radiology (IR) providing direct patient care within a fast-paced procedural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer moderate sedation per protocol.
- Assist physicians with interventional radiology procedures, including angiograms, cerebral coiling, biopsies, neuro interventions, carotid stenting, embolectomy, thrombectomy, kyphoplasty, ESI, hip injections, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and renal microwave ablations.
- Monitor patients during and post-procedure, assessing vital signs and patient condition.
- Operate and monitor specialized IR equipment, including bi-plane and single-plane angiography systems and GE monitoring equipment.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records using the Expanse EMR system.
- Ensure a safe and efficient patient care environment.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, technologists, and other members of the healthcare team.
Schedule / Shift
Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Weekends and on call
- Respond to all call needs per department demands.
- Expected to cover 1-2 call nights per week.
- Available to pick up additional call shifts as needed to meet departmental requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license required at the time of submission.
- Experience in procedural departments, critical care, emergency department, or ICU.
- Proficient in moderate sedation administration.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Interventional Radiology.
- Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab.
Certifications
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
Experience
- Experience in procedural departments, critical care, emergency department, or ICU is required.
- Experience with moderate sedation is required.
- Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath Lab experience is preferred.
