Registered Respiratory Therapist - Level III NICU / PICU - Night Shift
JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care services to patients under the direction of a physician as prescribed by the plan of care. This role supports patients requiring care in Level III NICU and PICU settings, ensuring high-quality respiratory support and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures according to physician's orders and established policies and procedures.
- Monitor patient's cardiopulmonary status, including vital signs, breath sounds, and ventilator parameters.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
- Operate and maintain mechanical ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
- Respond to cardiopulmonary emergencies and provide critical care interventions.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and equipment.
- Document all assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately and timely in the patient's medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and continuous learning.

Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Current state Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) settings.
EMR / Systems
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) charting systems is required.
