JOB SUMMARY
Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures utilizing specialized equipment following established protocols to provide images for physician review and diagnosis. Supports the diagnostic imaging department by performing a variety of ultrasound examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures including Abdomen, OB/GYN, and small parts imaging.
- Operates ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic quality images according to departmental protocols.
- Assists physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures as needed.
- Maintains patient records and ensures proper documentation of procedures.
- Adheres to all safety and infection control standards.
- Participates in departmental quality assurance initiatives.
Schedule / Shift
Varied shifts.
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS credentials (or equivalent) in Abdomen required.
- ARDMS credentials (or equivalent) in OB/GYN specialties required.
- Current unencumbered Oregon license in Sonography required upon submission.
- Healthcare Provider BLS required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Experience
- Experience performing general abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts ultrasound examinations.
Skills
- Proficiency in ultrasound imaging techniques for abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts.
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to operate ultrasound equipment and troubleshoot minor technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
