The Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and exceptional customer service. This role works closely with physicians and healthcare teams to obtain high-quality diagnostic images, maintain imaging equipment, and support efficient clinical operations. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering outstanding care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and addressing any questions or concerns.
Position patients appropriately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring comfort and safety.
Operate radiographic imaging equipment and maintain image quality standards.
Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and best practices to minimize patient and staff exposure.
Assist physicians and clinical staff during imaging procedures as required.
Operate C-arm equipment during procedures when applicable.
Accurately document patient information and imaging procedures within electronic medical record systems.
Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and functionality of imaging equipment.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a positive patient experience.
Follow all regulatory, safety, and organizational policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Active ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification.
Active Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist License.
Strong customer service and patient care skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Knowledge of radiographic imaging principles, patient positioning, and radiation safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating C-arm imaging equipment.
Experience working with Carestream X-ray systems.
Experience working with Fuji C-arm equipment.
Previous experience in outpatient, orthopedic, urgent care, or hospital imaging settings.
Strong patient-centered approach and commitment to quality care.
Candidates without Carestream or Fuji equipment experience will be considered, and training will be provided.
Certifications
ARRT Certification (Radiography)
Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist License
Current CPR Certification
Education
Associate's Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution.
Experience
Previous experience as a Radiology Technologist preferred.
Experience performing diagnostic X-ray procedures in a clinical, outpatient, or hospital setting is highly desirable.
