JOB SUMMARY
Provides direct patient care and performs a variety of technical duties in the Operating Room in accordance with physician orders, hospital policy, and established standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist the surgical team by preparing the operating room, draping patients, and providing instruments and supplies during surgical procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure adherence to aseptic technique throughout the surgical procedure.
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps to ensure patient safety.
• Prepare and handle specimens according to established protocols.
• Prepare and drape patients for surgical procedures.
• Administer medications on the sterile field as directed.
• Troubleshoot sterile field contamination issues.
• Facilitate fast room turnover between surgical cases.
• Work independently with minimal orientation.
• Coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Schedule / Shift
• Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Duration: 12 Weeks

Required Qualifications
• Must possess the skills required for orthopedic surgery including total joints, ENT, general surgery, and uro/gyn.
• Proficient in surgical identification and setup.
• Skilled in sterile technique and aseptic practice.
• Knowledge of counts, specimen handling, and surgical site preparation and draping.
• Competent in medication handling on the sterile field.
• Ability to troubleshoot sterile field contamination.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve fast room turnover.
• Ability to work independently with minimal orientation.

Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with intraoperative neuromonitoring.
• Experience in vendor coordination.

• Surgeries performed may include: Orthopedic surgery including total joints, GYN procedures/hysteroscopy/cystoscopy, ENT Tonsillectomy, thyroidectomy, FESS FUSION, General surgery, Ophthalmic surgery.

Floating / On-Call
• Late coverage/call is required bi-weekly.
• Floating to Endoscopy is expected.
