JOB SUMMARY
Provide skilled technical assistance and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the Operating Room. Assist surgeons and the surgical team by preparing the operating room, ensuring sterile technique, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and sterile.
• Assist the surgical team by providing instruments, sponges, sutures, and other necessary supplies during operative procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and the surgical team, responding quickly and efficiently.
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and needles as required.
• Assist with patient positioning, prep, and draping.
• Dismantle and clean surgical instruments and equipment post-procedure.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to surgical procedures and patient care.
• Transport patients to and from the operating room.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Schedule / Shift
7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (13 weeks)

Required Qualifications
• Knowledge and experience working in a labor and delivery setting.
• Proficiency in surgical scrubbing techniques.

Certifications
• Certified Surgical Tech (CST)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Experience
• Previous experience as a Surgical Tech in an Operating Room environment.
• Experience in labor and delivery settings is required.

Skills
• Excellent understanding of sterile technique and aseptic principles.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
