The Assistant Director of Nursing supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing clinical operations, staff management, and patient care delivery. This role ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, promotes quality improvement initiatives, and fosters a collaborative environment to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Support nursing leadership by assisting in planning, organizing, and directing nursing services.
Supervise nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Ensure regulatory compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
Implement quality improvement programs to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
Manage budgets, resources, and staffing levels to optimize efficiency.
Develop policies and procedures to maintain high standards of nursing practice.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration.
Experience in long-term care, acute care, or specialty nursing environments.
Proven track record in staff development and mentoring.
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
Nursing leadership or management certification (e.g., NE-BC, CNML) is a plus.
