Responsible for performing sterilization procedures on medical instruments and equipment in accordance with established procedures, infection control standards, industry standards, recommended practices, and regulatory requirements. This position does not involve direct patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Process specialty and general instruments accurately
Reset instrument sets without error
Decontaminate instruments and equipment according to procedure
Maintain department stock levels
Prepare and assemble trays following established listings for issue, storage, or further processing
Communicate repair needs to supervisor
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
2–4 years of related experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of case cart assembly
Familiarity with regulatory standards of materials management
Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality and performance
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in following sterilization procedures
Effective communication and teamwork skills
