Job Summary
The Registered Nurse - Flu Shooter is a contract, seasonal position responsible for administering influenza, COVID-19, and other routine vaccinations throughout the fall and winter vaccination season. The role requires a licensed New York State Registered Nurse with recent vaccination experience, strong knowledge of vaccine administration and patient safety protocols, and the ability to work flexible clinic schedules across Manhattan and Brooklyn. The nurse will provide efficient, professional, and patient-centered care while working independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer influenza, COVID-19, and other routine vaccinations in accordance with established clinical protocols.
• Follow vaccine administration, documentation, infection-control, and patient-safety procedures.
• Accurately document vaccinations and maintain required patient records.
• Provide patients with appropriate information and guidance regarding vaccination procedures.
• Create a warm and comfortable patient experience and help put patients at ease.
• Work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care and professionalism.
• Maintain efficient clinic operations through strong organization and time management.
• Flex between clinic locations throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn as required.
• Maintain dependable, punctual, and professional attendance throughout the seasonal contract.
Required Qualifications
• Active, unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Recent experience administering influenza and COVID-19 vaccines within the past year.
• Proven experience administering vaccines and other routine immunizations.
• Strong knowledge of vaccine administration protocols, documentation, and patient safety.
• Two professional supervisor references.
• Active driver's license.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently while providing exceptional patient care.
• Professional, dependable, punctual, and personable approach to patient care.
• Willingness to flex between Manhattan and Brooklyn clinic locations.
Education: Associate's Degree
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)
